The consolation of carpenters explores alternative uses of tools in the context of rural Mid-Ulster in the north of Ireland, researching how tools have adapted to technological advancements and how, subsequently, their use has changed and moved away from repair.
The text also looks at collaborative modes of decision making, speculative processes of labour, generosity and curiosity when assigning a language to using tools.
The text is included on a risograph publication printed for the exhibition by Derry Print Workshop.
