Anderston Footbridge

Over or Under
was a public installation by Dominique Rivard and performance by Molly Mae O’Leary that explored unfinished projects in the city of Glasgow, and how they become symbols of misled optimism in urban planning, leaving a city in limbo.

Anderston’s Bridge to Nowhere was the catalyst for this project - a once incomplete bridge that terminated 40ft in mid-air. When complete the bridge was renamed the Bridge to Everywhere, yet there still remain incomplete fragments such as the site for this intervention. The artists researched town planning documents and archival information to playfully respond to the bureaucratic language and mis-planning involved in growth oriented urban planning.
