four thoughts on living forever

Four thoughts on living forever is a text written during my time on residency at The Field in Derby for Take Hold, a publication edited by curator Rachel Botha.

The text comprises an investigation into a tech entrepreneur who is undergoing a series of experiments on the quest to live forever, a regime that is inherently connected to human-centric and capitalist notions of power, success and growth. In contrast to living forever, the text considers my experience working in organisations that devalue the health and wellbeing of underpaid employees in order to increase output and emphasise manegerial authority.

Alonsgide this, the text reflects on those who uphold and support us; thinking about how friendship and simple acts of love usurp any desire or need to live longer than what is currently possible.
